Complete Nearby Challenges
Whenever you find yourself near a challenge, complete it. Challenges help with your progression in the game and will allow you to upgrade your vehicles, gain loot, and also gain more followers. You will receive extra money from completing these, so try and finish these whenever possible.
Check Your Mailbox
If you miss picking up any items at the end of a race, these will be deposited in your mailbox. The mailbox can be found back at the headquarters and it’s basically a black crate that will store all of the items you may not have picked up.
Use Your Icon Points
As you get more and more popular, one of the main advantages you will gain are Icon Points which you can use to level up certain skill trees to gain some neat bonuses and abilities. Make sure you pay attention to your Icon level so that you can make use of your Icon Points once you gain enough.
Upgrade Your Vehicles
As soon as you get any loot, go to the Vehicles tab and see what vehicles can be upgraded with the items you’ve acquired. The rarer the items you use, the better the upgrades you will receive. Upgrading your vehicles is key to keep up with whatever challenges the game throws at you.
Explore The World
Explore as much as possible using sea, air, and land vehicles. Doing so will help you find challenges and Live Rewards that you may have missed otherwise. Maintaining Boat Speed
In boat races, all you really have to focus on is keeping the speed up. One thing that could slow you down is getting caught in the wake of other boats that are ahead of you. This can slow you down, so try your best to steer clear of these when trying to overtake opponents.
You Can Restart Races Quickly To Grind
This is a game in which some grinding helps you earn the extra cash and followers you need. After you finish a race, you don’t have to wait until the end credits to restart the race. Instead, just hold down the appropriate button (the Y/Triangle button) to immediately restart the race once you’ve earned the rewards from the race you completed.
HOW TO GET MORE PARTS
To upgrade your vehicles, you will require the best parts to equip them with. The best way to earn parts is to simply explore the map, take part in challenges, and open up any Live Crates you may across during your travels. Simply successfully completing the main events in the game will earn you a lot of items as rewards which can be used to upgrade your vehicles. If you fail to pick up any items at the end of a racing match, remember to check back at the mailbox for these items.
HOW TO GET THE SECRET HELICOPTER
There is a secret helicopter in the game that you can find, but it can’t be used to race. However, it makes for a great ride if you just want to explore the game’s world from up above.
The first step to unlock the helicopter finishing 70% of each of the Family Challenges and this includes Street Racing, Pro Racing, Freestyle, and Off-Road. Oncey ou finish this, you will be able to unlock face-offs with Rivals and you will have to beat the rival and unlock an Ultimate. Next, navigate to the Off Road Family HQ through ‘Proto’ from the Catalog menu. You will be able to see and claim the helicopter from here and you will be able to use it from here on out.
HOW TO FARM MONEY
There are a number of ways to earn money in the game, and you will have to make use of these methods so that you can buy whatever you want to and upgrade your vehicles the way you see fit.
There are many races and challenges you can try out from the Activities menu to earn some quick Bucks. There are some races and challenges in particular that offer some great cash rewards. To start off with, you can try out the Las Vegas Strip Race which will net you 20,000 Bucks if you win. Another Race with great cash rewards is the boat race in the Hoover Dam. Both of these races can be completed repeatedly so as to keep earning cash rewards. TheMotor Trend Classic Challenge Street Race also grants a good sum of bucks- about 16,000 Bucks- for completing it. Another race you can try out is the one at the South Strip which also grants good cash rewards for completing it.
If you want to do something other than race so as to earn money, you can participate Photo Challenges around the game’s world which grant 15,000 Bucks each. This is great way to earn Bucks and to also gain some followers.
HOW TO EARN LOOT
Earning loot in the game is not very difficult. Try and complete as many challenges and events as you can as these will reward you with loot. Additionally, using skills while driving will also grant you loot, so make sure you drive as stylishly as possible!
You can also find loot by finding Live Crates. These crates will randomly appear and you just have to follow directions to reach them. The great thing about Live Crates is that they contain loot that will be relevant to the vehicle that you’re currently driving.Additionally, you will also earn loot when you complete races in the form of some boxes. You just have to drive over these boxes to collect the loot. If you miss collecting the loot, you may be able to find them in your mailbox back at HQ.
All of the loot you get in the game will have different levels of rarity to them. While parts of higher rarity are usually better, this isn’t always the case, so make sure you pay attention to the stats instead of just making a decision according to the rarity. The rarity of items are color-graded as follows, from lowest to highest:
- Grey
- Green
- Blue
- Purple
HOW TO DRIFT
Drifting is an essential skill to learn in any racing game and this is no exception. You will also need to master the skill if you want to complete the drift challenges in the game. To drift, what you have to do is tap the normal brake button. Once you do this, just feather-tap the direction buttons to maintain the drift based on which side you’re drifting towards. Just keep practicing until you get a hang of how the vehicle handles and you will eventually be able to drift almost intuitively when the need arises.
You can also drift using the E-brake but this is a more difficult method. However, with enough practice, you will be able to pull it off. Similar to the other method, you just have to tap the E-brake button, and following this, you just have to use the direction keys to maintain the drift.
When you’re participating in drift challenges, your top priority is getting chain drifts. To get as many chains as possible, pay attention to the kind of corners that will be coming up and drift accordingly. If a tight turn is approaching, then drift into the middle of the road, and then turn to the other side so that you can keep the drift chain going. You can also make use of your nitrous when you want to quickly change the direction of your drift by gaining a boost to your speed.
HOW TO UPGRADE VEHICLES
To be able to upgrade your vehicles in this game, you will first have to gain the necessary loot. When you want to upgrade a particular vehicle, drive around in it, and you will come across Live Crates that grant loot that will be useful to the vehicle you’re driving. Before you can customize your vehicle, you will have to get your hands on enough parts. Once you have these, you can head to one of your two houses in the game’s world and then choose to customize any vehicle you want. One of the houses is found in Los Angeles and you can find the other on the opposite side in Miami. Once you enter the house, you can choose to customize the different parts of your vehicles. You can customize Performance, Color, Livery, and Visual Part for each vehicle.While the other categories are to do with how a vehicle looks, the category that actually matters is Performance. The different parts you can upgrade under the Performance section are as follows:
- Brakes
- E.C.U
- Engine
- Tires
- Exhaust
- Gearbox
Pay attention to the stats before you change a part, and soon you will have a fully upgraded car that also performs as per your requirements.
HOW TO LEVEL UP FAST
To level up in the game, you will have to gain more followers. There are a total of five levels in the game and they are Rookie, Popular, Famous, Star, and Icon. However, the leveling doesn’t end there because once you’re at the Icon level, you will be able to go up another level and then go up all the way to 9999. For every 100 levels, you will gain a new vehicle and for every 10 levels, you will gain some great loot.
Simply moving around the map will net you some followers, so it’s a good idea to drive to your destinations instead of using Fast Travel whenever possible. You can also use planes and perform certain tricks such as Close Call to earn quite a lot of followers. Completing Photo Challenges is also an easy way to earn followers. Apart from that, you should try and drive as stylishly as possible in races as this a surefire way to gain some followers! Make sure you also complete any smaller objectives and also take part in Xtrem Live events to gain more followers.

To get the fastest speedboats, you will have to use the right upgrades and also learn to handle them accordingly.
