The main character of the story is the hikikomori and otaku, Satō Kazuma, who one day, in an attempt to save a girl, is the victim of a car accident. Arriving in the afterlife, he meets a girl named Aqua, the goddess assigned to those who arrive there after death.

The goddess proposes different paths to Kazuma: going to heaven, reincarnating, or being sent to a fantasy world to defeat the Demon King. Of course, the boy chooses the third option, asking the goddess to come with him.

The two are transported into a fantasy world similar to that of role-playing video games, but Kazuma and Aqua find themselves there without money or special skills and will have to start their career as adventurers from level 1 while accumulating experience.

28. Juuni Kokuki – The Twelve Kingdoms

An old isekai with a female protagonist! I want a servant too! Nakajima Yoko is a high school student who is unhappy with her life. On a seemingly normal day, a man, claiming to be from another world, sneaks into her class, kneeling in front of her. This elegant character, named Keiki, claims to be her servant and guardian.

However, their first meeting is interrupted by the arrival of some demonic beasts, who have followed the man into this world. After dealing with them, Keiki manages to escape taking Yoko with him into his kingdom. Unfortunately, the problems have only just begun, as Yoko will find herself in this unknown land, trying to survive and understand why she was brought there.

27. How Not to Summon a Demon Lord

A smooth and pleasant anime to watch! The protagonist is a certain Takuma Sakamoto, a regular player of the online role-playing game “Cross Reverie” in which he has reached a level such as to be called “the Demon King” by other players.

At a certain point, he is transported, with the appearance he has in the game, to another world where he has been summoned by two girls who want to make Takuma their Familiar, but he retains the abilities he had in the game and then activates the automatic “Reflect Magic” auto-ability so that the two girls who become his slaves. Takuma then sets off with his new “helpers” to conquer the new world.

26. .hack//SIGN

It’s a great product that deserves to be seen even by those who are not passionate about role-playing games. The whole story is set within the video game “The World“, an MMORPG based on the use of virtual reality. The protagonist is Tsukasa, a wave master, who for unknown reasons is unable to disconnect from the game and return to the real world and for this, he is forced to live his entire existence inside it.

And what’s more, this is not the only oddity revolving around the character of Tsukasa, such as the appearance of an unknown monster not present in the game’s programming. The monster is invincible, responding to the commands of only Tsukasa, or even his bond with a strange, illegally created cat PC, who will draw the attention of the Crimson Warriors to Tsukasa.

25. GATE

An otaku ready to save the world and explore a new one! Suddenly a portal appears in the middle of Tokyo. From it, emerge knights in medieval armor, dragons, orcs, and other creatures that attack and kill many citizens.

23. Wise Man’s Grandchild

An asocial magical prodigy comes into contact with society for the first time. What will happen? One evening, an employee, exhausted from overwork, inadvertently dies when hit by a car. He is reincarnated in another world in the body of a newborn orphan, who is found in a forest by the wizard Merlin Wolford. The man takes it with him and gives it the name Shin.

20. Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash

Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash has a good setting with a likable plot. What I particularly like about it is the graphics. I think it’s cool! The story begins with Haruhiro awakening in a fantasy world. He doesn’t remember anything except his name, much less why he’s there. Like him, all the other people around him are in the same condition and soon everybody will realize that they are in a world in which to survive they will have to fight.

19. Btooom!

Battle Royal style! I like it. Sakamoto Ryouta is a 22-year-old unemployed boy who lives with his mother. In the real world, he does not possess any particular talents but online, he is one of the strongest players in the world of the combat game “BTOOOM!“.

One day, he wakes up on what appears to be a tropical island, having no idea how or why he ended up there. Ryouta realizes that his life is in danger and that somehow, he is trapped in a real version of his favorite game.

18. The Devil Is a Part-Timer

A refreshing anime I like so much. It’s hilarious, I swear! The demon king Satan is only one step away from conquering his alternate world when he is transported to the Tokyo we all know. To survive, he ends up working part-time at a restaurant.

And to realize his new idea, which is to conquer Japan, he must first become a full-time employee. Meanwhile, the heroine Emilia has managed to reach Tokyo, in search of Satan himself.

17. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

A slime as the main character? That’s unusual. Then, what about an overpowered slime? A 37-year-old man, unemployed and without a girlfriend, after being killed by a runaway robber, finds himself in a new world where he is reincarnated as a blind slime but with unique abilities.

With the new name of “Rimuru Tempest“, he begins his new life in this world where he will have to face many challenges, but he will also have the opportunity to meet an ever-increasing number of followers.

16. BOFURI

GIRL POWER. It’s so rare to see a female overpowered main character in an isekai nowadays. Kaede was invited by her friend Risa to play a new VRMMO New World Online, but not being very experienced and not loving pain, she chooses a large shield as a weapon to defend herself.

Yet, this is enough for her to defeat enemies upon enemies and level up. Without her realizing it, the incredible “girl with the shield“, the Tank Maple, is the talk of the town!

This series is super funny, but sad moments are not lacking. The plot twist, in the end, will surprise you. The goddess Rista summons a hero to help her fight monsters in a fantasy world. The hero Seiya, however, turns out to be as strong as he is cautious.

Furthermore, to ensure the death of an enemy, he will not hesitate to repeatedly use his most powerful attacks even against the most insignificant enemies and this will create problems not only for the Lord of the demons that he will have to defeat but also for the common inhabitants of this particular world.

This anime is brilliant! Super fun and refreshing. I’m totally in love with Izayoi. Recommended. The story follows Sakamaki Izayoi, a guy who is angry at the whole world. One day, he receives a sealed envelope.

Once opened, Izayoi is transported to an alternate universe only to discover that two other “problem children” have arrived there after receiving envelopes: they are Kusakabe Yō, a taciturn girl accompanied by a cat, and the beautiful and haughty Kudō Asuka. A girl named Kuro Usagi is the one who summoned the three, leading them into the “No Name” community, to defeatthe devil king.

13. Saga of Tanya The Evil

I recommend this work to those who appreciate war stories or want to see something a little special compared to the usual isekai. The story is pretty interesting. Tanya Degurechov is always on the front line on the battlefields, mercilessly killing her enemies.

Despite her trouble in speaking, she commands an entire army. Tanya was part of the Japanese bureaucratic elite, but due to the wrath of a god, he reincarnated into the body of a little girl, and now she thinks of nothing but optimizing and advancing her career, which makes her the most dangerous strategist of the Imperial Army.

12. Re: Zero Starting Life In Another World

This anime has everything you wish to see in an isekai. Even if the main character is pretty average, this series is, without doubt, a good watch with interesting dynamics. Returning from a konbini, the student Natsuki Subaru finds himself transported into another world. Amid the shock of finding himself alone in an unknown world, he is also attacked, but a mysterious silver-haired girl and a fairy cat save him. Subaru tries to work with the girl to return her favor when they are attacked again and killed.

Subaru wakes up in the same place he found himself in this new world for the first time and there he realizes that he can rewind time when he dies. Now he aims to save the mysterious girl from tragic fate!

11. The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat

A new anime that seems worth watching. The animation is high-quality! I like the killer theme. When the strongest killer of that time is killed, he awakens to a goddess who offers him reincarnation in another world. But on one condition: he will have to kill the hero of that world!

10. The Familiar of Zero

This is one of the first anime I’ve ever watched! It’s so adorable! I love Louise and Saito’s relationship, as well as the whole scenario and the other characters. Saito, a normal Japanese teenager, is mistakenly summoned as a Familiar to a magical world by Louise, a noble sorceress unable to use even the simplest spell.

Despite the disappointment of both parties, Louise and Saito will find themselves bound by a contract that cannot be dissolved. Of course, Saito will have difficulties in blending in this world that is so different from his. Comedy and romance are the main elements of this cute anime!

9. Drifters

What I appreciate about this anime is that it has a historical setting! Something different from the usual fantasy isekai, right? We are in 1600 on the field of the historic Battle of Sekigahara. Commander Toyohisa Shimazu, badly wounded, escapes into the mountains after killing his enemy. He ends up in a corridor room with infinite doors. Waiting for him is a mysterious little man who sends him through the nearest entrance.

Toyohisa enters a world similar to the Middle Ages, populated by humans and semi-humans. Together with the historical heroes Nobunaga Oda and Yoichi Nasu No, Toyohisa will be part of the “Drifters”, the most famous warriors of all time!

8. Jobless Reincarnation: I Will Seriously Try If I Go To Another World / Mushoku Tensei

A man has the chance to start over becoming the strongest wizard of all time. That’s cool. A 34-year-old neet is killed in a car accident and finds himself transported into a magical world. Instead of waking up as an adult wizard, he is reincarnated as a newborn child, retaining the memories of his past life. He decides that he will no longer make the same mistakes he made in his first life and that, instead, he will live without regret the new life that was granted to him.

Knowing a middle-aged man, at the age of two, he has already become a prodigy and possesses powers unthinkable for anyone who is his age and even older than him. So, he begins the chronicles of Rudeus Greyrat, the strongest wizard of all time, with powers that rival those of the gods.

7. The Rising of the Shield Hero

One of the best isekai of the last few years. It’s an interesting watch, I promise! Iwatani Naofumi spends a lot of his time reading light novels and fantasy comics. One day, his attention is attracted to a mysterious book with many blank pages and, after having leafed through it, he suddenly finds himself summoned in a parallel universe.

He then discovers that he is one of the four heroes in possession of the legendary weapons, who have the task of saving the world from destruction. Naofumi is “The hero of the shield“, the weakest hero, and he soon finds himself marginalized and betrayed, with only the company of his shield. Now Naofumi must rise again, become a true hero, and save the world.

6. Sword Art Online

Who doesn’t know SAO? Kirito and Asuna’s adventures are a must-watch if you want to enter this genre. Kirito, a programming genius, enters an interactive virtual reality with several players called “Sword Art Online“. The problem lies in the fact that once in the game, only winners can come out after completing it because game-over is equivalent to certain death for the players.

5. Spirited Away

Studio Ghibli Supremacy. Everybody should know this masterpiece. If you haven’t watched it yet, go watch it now! Chihiro is a 10-year-old girl. Her parents are moving to a new city when, a few minutes after arrival, they find themselves in the middle of the woods in front of a strange building.

Brilliant! I love smart and charismatic anti-heroes. It’s such a milestone. Yggdrasil is a virtual reality MMORPG that, once very popular, is now on the verge of closing its doors for good. Momonga, one of the strongest and most famous players, logs in for the last time to witness the end of the service, but as he counts down, he closes his eyes and thinks back to all the good times he had with his teammates.

When he reopens them, Momonga discovers that he has been transported into the game in the form of his skeleton-like character. Far from upset, from now on his only goal will be to conquer the new world into which he is reborn.

3. Log Horizon

Brilliant! A masterpiece! Shiroe is the best MC ever! Sorry, I love Log Horizon so much that I got overexcited. Anyway, WATCH IT.
