1955 Bel Air E-Rod Project Car (2024)

Classic efficiency

When you think of a classic hot rod, efficiency doesn’t spring to mind. But the Chevrolet Performance E-ROD crate engine system in this 1955 Bel Air is a powerful example of technological advancement building on greatness.

The Bel Air’s E-ROD system balances the 430 horses of an LS3 6.2L V-8 with emissions equipment designed to help vehicles meet increasingly stringent emissions requirements.

All that advanced power is handled by the Hydra-Matic 4L65-E 4-speed automatic transmission. The most affordable automatic from Chevrolet Performance, the 4L65-E offers strength to accommodate an engine up to 430 lb-ft of torque. A SuperMatic transmission controller enables a convenient plug-in installation to match the plug-in features of the E-ROD system. The result is an easy way to blend yesteryear’s iconic style with today’s efficient, performance.
