What is the relationship between India and Korea? ›

India-Republic of Korea established diplomatic relations on 10 December 1973. Consular relations were established in 1962. Both countries formed a “Strategic Partnership” in year 2010, which was elevated to “Special Strategic Partnership” in year 2015 during the State Visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Seoul.

The deep-rooted connections between India and the Republic of Korea (ROK) can be traced back to 48 AD, as documented in the 13th-century Korean text "SamgukYusa."
