NHS Band 8A Net Pay after Deductions for 2023/2024 (inc. new 5% NHS Payrise) (2024)

Band 8A jobs include specialist clinical roles such as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Psychologist, Lead Nurse, Specialist Social Worker and many others. Non clinical 8A roles in the NHS include Head of Departments, Quality and Safety Managers, Programme Managers, Transformation Managers, Finance Managers, Clinical Compliance Leads and many others.

In September 2022 most people at the bottom of an 8A found that they paid NHS pension arrears because the payrise tipped them into the 12.5% pension rate.
