How do you get new cars in Need for Speed: Underground 2? ›

To unlock a new car slot in NFSU2, you need to get a sponsor, sign a contract with them, and complete all the races stated on the contract. You will then not only get a free slot, but sometimes also a free new car. To get the chance to sign with a sponsor, you need to win three drift races.

At the beginning of the game, it doesn't really matter which one you choose, although the Miata MX-5 is probably the best choice for beginners, due to its handling capabilities. The first five races will introduce you to the different race formats in the game, such as Sprint X, Circuit, and Drag.

Cars in Need for Speed: Underground are unlocked as the player progresses through Underground Mode. As the player completes events in Underground Mode, additional cars are unlocked at certain points of their progression.
