A CNA II can provide certain patient care services under the supervision of an RN. A CNA III can be trained to run certain diagnostic tests and focus on areas such as phlebotomy or acute care.
  • Medication Aide Certification: The National Council of State Boards of Nursing offers the Medication Aide Certification Exam. CNAs who pass the exam are certified to give medications to patients in certain settings.
