There is no end date. It'll be done when it's feature complete and we're satisfied enough with the game to release it from EA. Even after release, some of us may continue to work on it. PZ is instead very much a game you should just play and enjoy for what it is today rather than waiting for something final.

Probably not. Seems this game, like other survival type games, is to see how long you can make it. When you die you get a record of how long you managed, think of that as your high score.

Yes, you can choose to simply create a new pawn on the existing world. if you die you can continue in that world with a new character. all structures etc. and loot stays on your (zombified) corpse.

It's crucial to remember that Project Zomboid's default settings for zombie respawn are 10% respawn after 72 in-game hours. No zombies will actually respawn if you kill 50 of the 500 zombies in a cell every day. However, 50 zombies will return there if you leave the region for 72 hours.

Downtown areas tend to have higher populations than suburban or outskirt areas. The population will increase and hit its peak after 30 days have passed. Some areas can also become more populated as time passes due to hordes migrating from other areas.

If the player hasn't slept for a long time, the sleeping time can drastically increase depending on the severity of the exhaustion. If there is no extreme situations (e.g., sleeping regularly every day), players need to sleep: ≈9 hours a day.

However, the electricity will randomly shut off anywhere from 0–30 in-game days, which can be adjusted in the sandbox settings. Once the electricity has shutoff, all appliances requiring electricity will no longer function.
