F&O stocks to buy today: 9 short-term trading ideas by experts for 21 March 2024 (2024)

The Indian headline indices managed a positive closing on a volatile Wednesday. Index heavyweight Reliance Industries (RIL) pulled the market from the day’s low, neutralising the impact of HDFC Bank’s fall.

Among sectors, auto was the top performer while metal turned out to be the biggest dud. The S&P BSE Sensex settled at 72,101.69, higher by 89.64 points or 0.12%, the broader Nifty closed at 21,839.10, down by 21.65 points or 0.10%.

India VIX, a measure of volatility in Nifty, was reported at 13.47 on Wednesday, down 4.53%.

“In a market buoyed by record closings on Wall Street and a confident stance from the Fed, Nifty is poised for significant gains, supported by optimistic economic projections," Prashanth Tapse, Senior Vice President (Research) a Mehta Equities said. With interest rates held steady, Nifty's immediate targets stand at 22,000 and 22,527 with limited downside risks. Preferred trades suggest buying Nifty and Bank Nifty with bullish sentiments prevailing, he added.
