Iron is found most abundantly on earth. It has multifarious uses. It is used as constructional and structural material. It is used in many parts of the world for railings, furniture and as utensils too.

Though iron is found abundantly, it is not found independently. It is found in the form of its oxides in the underground rocks, these are called as iron ores. Iron ore suppliers extract this iron from the underground and they refine the ore to get pure iron. Iron ore looks totally different from the pure iron.

There are many iron ores underneath the earth; they are called as limonite, hematite, magnetite and siderite. Iron ores contain few other elements along with iron but in smaller quantities. Most of them contain silicates. The process of refining the iron ore to pure iron involves the removal of oxygen in it. Iron is found in the crust of earth and it is found abundantly. Since it is discovered at the early stages of civilization itself, it is vastly used at least in the form of alloys if not directly. Smelting process is practiced when alloys come into the point.

To make iron stronger, carbon is slightly added in little proportion which makes it versatile too. Steel is produced when a little proportion of carbon of about 0.2 to 2% is added which makes it highly versatile structural element ever.

For many industrial applications, iron ore suppliers convert iron into pig iron and cast iron. Iron is present in fruits and vegetables too due to which our body also contains iron. Almost 35% mass of the earth is covered by iron and its ores. Iron ore suppliers follow a process called reduction in which oxygen is removed from iron ores and pure iron is obtained. Iron ore suppliers make use of blast furnaces for the production of steel and other alloys which are used in many industries.

In this process, iron is heated along with co*ke (carbon) in the blast furnace which is also called as pig iron. Here reduction process takes place at very high temperatures in coal’s presence. This pig iron which is produced in the blast furnaces is used in many industries in the form of steel and other alloy forms.

Since iron has a very high demand all over the world, even iron ore suppliers have high demand from many industries based on iron steel and other alloys.
