How long does Amsoil CVT transmission fluid last? ›

Currently have 121,000 miles on my accord with zero issues at 30,000 mile interval changes. Currently have 161,000 on my Altima v6, no problems at all! I don't recommend extending any fluid change intervals recommended by manufacturer, and amsoil will preserve performance long past typical life of transmission.

If you are just going to drain and refill the cvt, then you'll need 4 or 5 litres maximum. The cvt holds more, but you're not going to be able to empty it completely. If you want to do 3 separate drain & fills then this would use 8+ quarts, it's a very thorough way to clean up the cvt.

Transmission fluid will become foamy if there is too much fluid. Excessive fluid prohibits proper lubrication and cooling and slows the rotating crankshaft, similar to the effect of running through water.

One should never mix regular manual or automatic transmission fluid with CVT fluid or vice versa. While an advanced car can run with the wrong transmission fluid, it will end in damage.
